The Raypak H000332 is the ambient temperature sensor kit for the 9350, 9353, 5450, 6450 and 8450 heat pump pool heaters. It is the genuine Raypak service part.
What the ambient sensor does
A heat pump pulls warmth out of the outside air, so it has to know how cold that air is. The ambient sensor supplies that reading. When it drifts or fails, the unit works from bad information and behavior around startup, defrost and shutdown stops making sense.
Supplied as a kit
Raypak sells this as a kit rather than a bare sensor, so the parts needed for the change arrive together. The components are built for outdoor service on pool equipment.
Check which sensor your heater is calling out before ordering. The coil temperature sensor and the 100K temp sensor kit are separate Raypak parts for the same heat pump range.
