This is the genuine Polaris R0763200 fine filter canister for the 7240 Sport robotic pool cleaner, made by Zodiac Pool Systems as the OEM part.

What the canister does

Everything the cleaner picks up ends up in here. The canister is the whole filtration system on a robotic cleaner, so its condition sets how much of what the machine collects actually stays collected. A canister with a torn mesh, a cracked frame, or a lid that no longer seats will pass debris straight back into the pool while the cleaner appears to be working normally.

Fine or ultra fine

This is the fine canister, the everyday choice for leaves, grit and general debris. Polaris also lists an ultra fine canister under its own part number for finer material such as pollen and silt. Many owners keep one of each and swap by season.

Worth keeping a spare

Canisters need rinsing after every run or two, and a second one means the cleaner can go back in the water while the first dries.
