The Polaris R0535800 is the ultra sand and silt filter canister for Polaris robotic pool cleaners, filtering down to 60 microns. It is the genuine Polaris part, molded in plastic.

Why the fine canister exists

Robotic cleaners are only as good as what their canister will hold. A general purpose canister catches leaves, hair and everyday grit, but fine sand and silt pass through the mesh and go straight back into the pool. On a pool that collects that kind of debris, the cleaner runs its full cycle and the floor still looks dusty afterwards. Dropping to a 60 micron canister is what changes that.

When to use it

Pools near sand, under heavy dust, or in areas with fine windblown soil are the obvious cases. So is any pool where the water clouds as soon as the floor is disturbed. Many owners keep more than one canister and swap according to the season, running the fine canister after a windy spell and a coarser one during leaf drop.
