Product details

The Jandy R0457503 is the igniter for the Jandy Hi-E2 pool heater. It is the genuine Jandy part.

What it does

When the heater is called on, the control sequence brings the blower up, opens the gas valve and lights the burner. The igniter is the piece that does the lighting. It is also the component that spends its whole working life in the hottest part of the heater, which is why it is treated as a wear item rather than a permanent fitting.

The symptom

A Hi-E2 that powers up and runs through its start sequence but never fires is the classic case. If the heater is getting gas and the safeties are satisfied, the igniter is the first thing to look at.

Before you order

Check the data plate reads Hi-E2. Other Jandy heater families use different igniters, so the model is what decides the part, not the BTU rating.
