The Raypak 006736F is the genuine transformer for the Raypak 185A, 265A, 335A and 405A pool heaters, rated 120/240/24 V.

What it powers

Everything on the control side of a Raypak heater runs on low voltage. The thermostat, the ignition control, the safety switches and the display all sit on a 24 V circuit, and this transformer is what feeds it from the incoming line. Lose the transformer and the heater goes completely dark, which is why it is worth checking before condemning a control board.

Diagnosis before you order

Put a meter on the secondary with the power on. No output means the transformer is done. If a replacement fails quickly, something downstream is drawing more than it should, and that fault needs finding before the second transformer goes the same way.
