Product details

Part 77707-1441 is the conversion kit that takes a 400 Max-E-Therm heater burner system from natural gas over to propane. It is the manufacturer kit for that job, listed against the 400 model rather than the smaller heaters in the family.

What a conversion kit does

Natural gas and propane burn at different pressures and need different amounts of air, so a burner set up for one will not run correctly on the other. The kit supplies the parts that reset the burner for the new fuel. It is not a matter of swapping a fitting on the gas line.

Before you order

Check the model and the BTU rating on the heater data plate, and check which way you are converting. This kit runs natural gas to propane only. Going the other way, propane to natural gas, takes a different part number.

Fuel conversions are licensed work in most places. Have a qualified gas technician do the installation and check the heater over before it is put back in service.
