Product details
ProTeam Metal Magic is a metal control treatment supplied in a 32 oz quart bottle. It removes iron, copper, silver and manganese from pool water, and it is also used to lift surface stains those metals have already left behind.
Where metal stains come from
Metals arrive in the water from fill water, from corroding equipment, and from some algaecides. They stay invisible while they are dissolved, then drop out onto plaster, liner or fiberglass as brown, green or gray staining as soon as the chemistry shifts. Treating the water is what stops that cycle repeating after you have cleaned the surface.
How to use it
Start by adjusting pH into the 7.5 to 7.8 range and cleaning the filter if it needs it. Turn off, disconnect or remove any Nature 2, Frog or similar mineral system, and stop running the chlorine generator while you treat. For light staining or a low metal level, use one quart per 10,000 gallons.
After it goes in
Leave the filter running continuously for 48 hours so the water turns over properly and the filter can catch what comes out of suspension. Results are best when the water is above 60 degrees F, so this is a treatment for the season rather than for a cold pool.
