Product details

The Pentair 219001 is the replacement o-ring for LeafVac lids. It is the genuine Pentair part, sized for the lid it seals rather than a generic ring of approximately the right diameter.

Why the o-ring matters

The lid seal is what lets the canister hold what it collects. When the o-ring hardens, flattens or takes a set, air gets past the lid and debris that should stay in the canister no longer does. Owners often start looking at the cleaner or the pump when a two dollar seal is the actual fault.

Fitting

Clean the groove before the new o-ring goes in, check the lid and canister for cracks while everything is apart, and put a thin film of a pool rated silicone lubricant on the ring so it seats evenly. Skip petroleum based greases, which swell rubber over time.
