Pentair R201716 is the replacement silt sock for the MiniVac and the Vac-Mate vacuum and skimmer, sold three to a pack.

What a silt sock is for

A vacuum basket stops leaves and the obvious debris, but fine silt goes straight through it. The sock is a fine mesh bag that sits in the flow path and holds that material back at the vacuum instead of letting it travel on. The immediate benefit is water that clears rather than clouding as you vacuum, and less fine sediment loading the filter afterwards.

They are consumables

Silt socks load up, and eventually the mesh wears or tears. That is normal, which is why they come in a pack of three. Keeping spares on the shelf means a torn sock does not stop a vacuum session.
