Product details

The Pentair 520736 is the replacement flow and temperature switch kit for IntelliChlor salt chlorine generators. It is the genuine Pentair part and comes with two watertight, pair-at-a-time wire connectors.

Why the switch matters

An IntelliChlor will not generate chlorine unless it is satisfied that water is moving through the cell, and it uses the same switch to read water temperature. When the switch fails, the system reports a flow problem that does not exist and chlorine production stops, which usually shows up first as a pool that slowly loses its residual.

Before you replace it

Rule out the ordinary causes of low flow first: a dirty filter, a closed or partly closed valve, a clogged pump or skimmer basket. If flow through the equipment is good and the cell still reports otherwise, the switch is the part to change.

What does this switch do?
It is the combined flow and temperature switch. The IntelliChlor uses it to confirm water is moving and to read water temperature before it will generate chlorine.
Does the kit include the wire connectors?
Yes. Two watertight pair-at-a-time wire connectors are supplied with the switch.
My cell says no flow but the pump is running, is this the part?
It is the usual suspect once you have ruled out a dirty filter, a closed valve and a clogged basket. A failed switch will report no flow even with good circulation.
Is it a genuine Pentair part?
Yes. It is the Pentair OEM replacement kit, part number 520736.
