The Pentair Platinum is a pressure-side pool cleaner, supplied in white.
How a pressure-side cleaner works
Instead of drawing water in the way a suction cleaner does, a pressure-side cleaner is driven by water pushed out to it through the return plumbing. That water powers the cleaner around the pool and lifts debris into a bag carried on the cleaner itself. Two things follow from that: the skimmer line stays free for normal skimming, and leaves and grit end up in the cleaner bag rather than in the pump basket and the filter.
