The King Technology Perform-Max In Ground 980 is a bulk chlorine or bromine feeder. The 980 is the Model 940 supplied with reducer bushings, and it holds 10 pounds of chemical.

The Performance Valve

The feature that separates a Perform-Max from a simple soaker is the patented Performance Valve. It lets water continuously erode only the bottom layer of chemical rather than wetting the whole supply at once. Eroding a small area is what makes the output predictable, and it is why the valve responds accurately to each adjustment across its wide range of settings.

Sizing and chemistry

It runs chlorine or bromine, in pucks, tablets or sticks, and the 10 pound capacity covers chlorine pools up to 50,000 gallons and bromine pools up to 25,000 gallons. The point of that headroom is a steady residual through hot weather and heavy bather loads, without the swings that come from over chlorinating and then chasing the level back down.
