This is the Raypak ASME certified commercial pool heater, 333,000 BTU on natural gas, with a cupro nickel heat exchanger and Raypak digital control. It is supplied under part number 017405.
Why ASME
Many local codes require an ASME certified heater on public pools, and on pools serving condominiums, apartments and other commercial properties. ASME is the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and their code sets what the appliance must handle, particularly on operating water pressure. Raypak has each ASME exchanger certified by a state inspector before it goes into a heater.
Cupro nickel and altitude
The cupro nickel exchanger is the choice for water that is hard on copper, whether that is salt, low pH or heavy bather load. This particular build is set up for installations at 2000 to 6000 feet, so confirm the elevation at the site before ordering.
Ordering and delivery
The heater moves by freight on a pallet. Arrange for offloading and for getting it to the equipment pad, and have a licensed gas fitter handle the connection.

What does ASME certification actually mean?
ASME is the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, a non profit body that sets industrial and manufacturing standards. An ASME heat exchanger is built to their code, particularly for the operating water pressure the appliance can handle, and each one Raypak fits is certified by a state inspector.
Why would my pool need an ASME heater?
Local codes often require ASME certification for public pools and for pools at condominiums, apartments and other commercial properties. Check with your local authority before ordering.
What altitude is this unit set up for?
2000 to 6000 feet. Altitude affects combustion, so a heater has to be built or configured for where it will run.
How does it ship?
