This is Raypak's Digital natural gas pool and spa heater in the 336A size, 332,500 BTU/hr input, jetted with the #51 orifice for installations from 2,000 to 6,000 ft. Raypak's model is the P-R336A-EN-C #51, part number 009222, and the figures on this page are Raypak's for that model. Our distributor also lists it as 009968, the Rheem model P-M336A-EN-C #51.
Why the orifice matters
Raypak sells the same heater jetted for three bands: #50 for 0 to 2,000 ft, #51 for 2,000 to 6,000 and #52 for 6,000 to 9,000, each under its own part number. Order the band that matches the installation address. This one covers 2,000 to 6,000 ft.
The heater
Polymer headers with the ProTek Shield module, a straight copper fin tube heat exchanger, digital IID ignition with no standing pilot, and a digital LCD that sets the temperature and reads out diagnostics. Raypak's Unitherm governor prevents condensation, the self adjusting burner compensates for gas pressure changes, and the heater plumbs directly to PVC and can sit on a combustible surface.
Power and connections
120 or 240 VAC, single phase, at 4 A or 2 A. Water connections are 2 inch slip, the gas connection 3/4 inch NPT, and the cabinet is 26 inches wide. At the rated 82 percent thermal efficiency the heater puts about 272,650 BTU/hr into the water.

Is Raypak 009222 the same heater as Rheem 009968?
Our distributor lists Rheem's P-M336A-EN-C #51, 009968, as the same heater as Raypak's P-R336A-EN-C #51, 009222. Raypak's catalog prints that Raypak to Rheem pairing for its 206A, 266A and 406A digital heaters but not for the 336A, so the pairing is the distributor's word, not Raypak's.
Why is Raypak 009222 a high altitude heater?
