MCCVDB0 is the Stenner replacement duckbill for the check valve on their peristaltic pumps, moulded in Santoprene. It is the duckbill on its own, sold one per order rather than in the five pack.
What the duckbill does
On a peristaltic feeder, chemical leaves the pump in pulses. The duckbill in the injection check valve opens for each pulse and closes behind it, which is what keeps line pressure and pool water from pushing back toward the pump. When it stops sealing, the pump loses prime, dosing becomes uneven, and the feeder appears to be running while very little chemical is actually reaching the water.
Fitment and service life
Stenner lists this duckbill for the 45, 85, 100 and 170 Series adjustable and fixed pumps and for the SVP and BDF Series. Duckbills are consumables: constant exposure to concentrated chemical stiffens and swells the elastomer over time, so most techs change the duckbill on the same visit as the pump tube instead of waiting for a failure.
