Product details

The Pentair R172374 is the lock spring for Rainbow automatic chlorinators. It is the genuine Pentair replacement.

Where it sits

The spring is part of the lid locking arrangement on the feeder. It keeps the lock loaded so the lid stays properly secured on a vessel that sees pressure and strong chemical vapor. When the spring is missing or has gone slack, the lock loses its bite and the lid no longer holds the way it should.

Compatibility

Pentair lists this spring for the Rainbow HC-3315, HC-3330 and 3340 chlorinators. It is a small, inexpensive part, so it makes sense to replace it whenever the feeder is open for lid or lock ring work.
