Product details

The Pentair R172274 is the compression nut used on Rainbow automatic chemical feeders, sized for 1/2 inch feed tubing. It is sold on its own, as the nut only.

What the nut does

The nut squeezes the ferrule down onto the tubing and holds the connection tight against feeder pressure. It takes the whole load of every time that joint is broken and remade, which is why it is usually the first piece of the connection to give up rather than the tube itself.

Fit

It is listed for the Rainbow automatic feeder parts groups covering models 300-29X, 320 and 322. One source lists that same fit as 300-29X, 300 and 322, so if your feeder is a model 300 or a 320 and you want certainty, match the nut to the one you are removing before ordering.
