Where it sits in the system
The injection check valve is the last component in a chemical feed line. It threads into the pipe or fitting at the injection point, opens when the pump pushes chemical through, and closes the rest of the time so pressurized water cannot travel back up the tubing toward the pump.
Why it fails
Everything the feed system doses passes through this one small valve, and it lives at the junction between chemical and circulating water. Deposits build up, the seat stops sealing, or the valve sticks shut. A feed pump that turns as it should while chemical levels do not move is often pointing at the injection check valve rather than at the pump.
