Product details
The Stenner UCINJ38 is the injection check valve with a 3/8 inch ferrule. Stenner lists it for the 45, 85, 100 and 170 Series adjustable and fixed pumps, and for the SVP and BDF Series pumps.
Where it sits
The injection check valve is the last piece in the feed line, threaded into the pipe where the chemical goes in. Two jobs: it delivers the dose into the flow, and its internal check stops pressurized water from travelling back up the tubing toward the pump when the pump is idle.
Why it wears out
Everything the pump feeds passes through this one fitting, so it takes the full strength of the chemical along with line pressure and, on hard water, scale. A valve that weeps at the pipe, will not hold a prime, or feels gritty when it seats has done its time. Match the ferrule size to your tubing before ordering, since the same valve is built in several sizes.
