Kreepy Krauly K12156C is the replacement swivel cone and bearing for the KK2000 pool cleaner by Pentair. It is supplied as the cone and the bearing together.
What it does
The swivel is the joint where the vacuum hose meets the cleaner. It lets the hose rotate freely as the cleaner tracks around the pool, which is the only thing keeping the hose from winding into coils. Once the bearing binds, the hose starts twisting and the cleaner loses reach, so it works the same stretch of floor over and over and never gets to the far end.
Checking it
With the cleaner out of the water, turn the swivel by hand. It should spin smoothly with no grinding and no catching. Roughness or a seized bearing means the assembly is done.
