The Nidec EEQ750 is a U.S. Motors replacement motor for Pentair EQ series pumps, rated 7.5 HP on 230V single phase power.

Why the mounting matters

This motor is built with the special JMZ mounting the EQ series pumps use. Horsepower alone does not make a motor a replacement; the frame and mount have to match the pump it drives, which is what makes this a direct fit where a general purpose motor is not.

How it is built

Open dripproof enclosure on a rigid base, Class F insulation, continuous duty, and a 40 C ambient rating. The bearings are permanently lubricated ball bearings, so there is nothing to grease in service. The shaft extension is 300 series stainless steel and the ground lug is stainless as well, both aimed at the corrosion that shortens motor life around a pool pad.

Installation

At 7.5 HP single phase this is a large motor and a large electrical load. Have the supply, disconnect and overload protection checked by a qualified electrician against the motor nameplate before it goes into service. As an open dripproof motor, it should sit under cover and out of direct spray.

Which pumps does this motor fit?
Pentair EQ series pumps. It is built with the special JMZ mounting those pumps use, which is why a general purpose motor of the same horsepower will not bolt up.
What power supply does it need?
230V single phase. At 7.5 HP this is a substantial load, so the circuit and disconnect need to be sized for it by a qualified electrician.
Is the enclosure suitable for outdoors?
It is an open dripproof motor with a rigid base. ODP motors want to be under cover and out of direct spray, so mount it in a protected equipment area.
