Product details

This is the Waterway 640-2909-DKG deck and gutter drain, a 2 inch by 4 inch gray unit that drops into a deck or gutter run to carry water away.

Where it goes

Deck drains sit flush in the walking surface around a pool and take the water that sheets off swimmers and off rain. Gutter runs do the same job at the pool edge. Either way the part is doing something simple and doing it constantly, which is why they eventually crack, chalk out or lose their color and get replaced.

Before you order

Two things decide whether a replacement drops straight in: the opening size and the color. This one is 2 inches by 4 inches, and the DKG suffix is Waterway gray. Pull one of the existing pieces and measure it rather than eyeballing the run, since neighboring sizes look very similar once they are set in concrete.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

What size is this drain?
2 inches by 4 inches. Measure the existing opening before ordering, because deck drains are sold in several sizes.
What color is it?
Gray. The DKG on the end of the Waterway part number is the color code.
Is this for a deck or for a gutter?
Either. Waterway lists 640-2909-DKG as a deck and gutter drain, so it suits both runs.
Will it match my existing drains?
If your run is Waterway in the same 2 by 4 size and the same gray, yes. Mixed brands and colors rarely line up, so check one of the old pieces first.
