Product details

The Pentair 72546 is a stainless steel machine screw, 8-32 thread by 1/2 inch, with a Phillips drive. It is the genuine Pentair replacement fastener.

Why the exact size matters

Fasteners on pool equipment are not generic. A screw that is too long bottoms out and cracks a housing, and one that is too short strips the last threads it does catch. Buying the part number the equipment was built with takes that guesswork out of the job.

Stainless for a wet environment

Equipment pads sit in splash, humidity and chlorine vapor, and plated steel hardware in that environment corrodes into place. Stainless comes back out the next time. If the screw you are replacing rounded off under a driver, that is the corrosion telling you the whole set is due.
