The Hayward SP1019 is a 2 inch by 4 inch deck drain. It is the genuine Hayward part, and Hayward uses both names for it: the product title calls it a deck drain and the description calls it a gutter drain in the same size.
What it does
Water that runs off the pool and off swimmers has to leave the deck somewhere. A deck drain set into the surround takes it away instead of letting it stand, which keeps the deck from staying wet and keeps that water from working back toward the pool. The 2 inch by 4 inch size is the common small rectangular format used in runs around a pool surround.
Replacing an old one
Deck drains sit in sun and chlorinated water year after year, and they eventually go brittle and crack. If the body is still sound and only the grate on top has broken, matching 2 inch by 4 inch replacement grates are available separately, so check which part has actually failed before you order.
