The Waterway Plastics 645-2150 V is an 8 inch anti-vortex main drain cover in white. It is the grate that mounts over the main drain sump in the pool floor.

Anti-vortex

Water drawn toward a suction outlet will start to rotate above it. The anti-vortex profile is shaped to break that swirl up rather than let it organise, which is part of how the cover handles the flow passing through the drain.
