Product details
The Aqua-Flo 91694110 is the 1 horsepower impeller for Flo-Master XP and XP2 series pumps. Some distributor catalogs list the same part as 5121-39 or 35-402-1409.
What the impeller does
The impeller is the wheel on the motor shaft that actually moves the water. It is cut for a particular horsepower, so it has to match the motor it is going on. When the vanes wear or the passages pack with debris, the pump still sounds healthy but delivers less flow, and the symptom shows up as weak returns or a cleaner that will not drive.
Fitting
Getting the impeller off means opening the wet end and pulling it from the shaft, which exposes the shaft seal. Fit a new seal while you are there. It costs little next to doing the job twice.
