Product details

The Hayward WG1030AVPAK2 is a two pack of 8 in. round white suction outlet frames and covers, the main drain set for in-ground pools built with field fabricated sumps. Each ABS cover has an 8.1 sq in open area and is VGB compliant, tested to ANSI/APSP/ICC-16 2017.

Flow ratings

Hayward rates the cover and sump combination by pipe size and port position: 107 to 123 GPM floor mounted and 59 to 72 GPM wall mounted. The WG1058C frame is qualified for 1-1/2 in. and 2 in. pipe only. New pools need suction outlets in multiples, at least 3 ft apart on pipe centers, and a single outlet in an existing pool keeps its rating only alongside an added ASME A112.19.17 entrapment protection device.

Installation

The frame must be secured to the pool structure and sit flat to the finished surface. Because the interior finish holds it in place, that surface has to be sound and free of voids. Each cover takes two machine screws, started and finished by hand to 15 in-lb, with no power tools.

Before you order

Hayward replacement covers retrofit to existing Hayward frames, and the white cover on its own is WGX1048E. Vinyl liner and fiberglass pools use the WG1048AVPAK2 or WG1049AVPAK2 outlets, which come with a mounting ring and gaskets for the liner. Hayward calls for replacing covers and screws at least every 7 years.

Will the Hayward WG1030AVPAK2 fit my existing main drain?
Hayward replacement covers retrofit to existing Hayward frames, and the WG1030AVPAK2 supplies the round frame and cover together for in-ground pools with field fabricated sumps. If your Hayward frame is sound and only the covers need replacing, the white cover alone is WGX1048E.
What flow rate is the Hayward WG1030AVPAK2 rated for?

How are the WG1030AVPAK2 covers fastened?
Each WG1030AVPAK2 cover takes two machine screws, started by hand to avoid cross threading and finished by hand to 15 in-lb, with no power tools. Hayward calls for the WG1058C frame to be secured to the pool structure and flat to the finished surface.
