Product details

The Polaris 9-100-1201 is the genuine black inline back-up valve for the Polaris 360 BlackMax pressure side cleaner.

What it does

A pressure cleaner would otherwise push itself into a corner and stay there. The back-up valve interrupts that by reversing the cleaner on a cycle, so it can pull itself off a step or out of a corner and get back to covering the pool. When the valve stops cycling, the cleaner stalls in the same spot every time.

Check the hose before ordering

The 360 and the 380 look similar but do not share this part. Look at the hose: the 360 uses a larger corrugated hose close to 1.5 inches across, while the 380 hose is smooth and about the diameter of a garden hose. If yours is the smooth one, order the 380 version instead.

Will this fit my Polaris 380?
No. This is the 360 version. The 380 uses a smooth hose about the diameter of a garden hose and takes a different back-up valve.
How do I tell a 360 hose from a 380 hose?
The 360 hose is corrugated and close to 1.5 inches in diameter. The 380 hose is smooth and much closer to garden hose size.
What does the back-up valve do?
It periodically reverses the cleaner so it can back itself out of a corner, off a step or away from a wall instead of sitting there.
