Product details

The PoolStyle PS160 is a deep leaf rake built on an angled aluminum frame. It attaches to a standard telescopic pool pole and is the tool to reach for when leaves are on the floor rather than on the surface.

Deep bag, fewer trips

The bag hangs well below the frame, which is what separates a rake from a flat skimmer net. Instead of filling after a handful of leaves, it keeps loading as you sweep, so a whole section of pool floor can be cleared before you lift it out to empty.

Why aluminum

At the end of an extended pole, weight is what wears your arms out. An aluminum frame keeps the head light and will not rust in chlorinated water. The angled shape holds the mouth of the rake flat against the pool floor while the pole is at a working angle, which is what keeps leaves going into the bag instead of sliding away in front of it.

Get debris out early

Leaves left in the pool break down, stain the surface and load the filter with organic material the chemistry then has to deal with. Pulling them out by hand is the cheapest maintenance step there is.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

What is the difference between a deep rake and a flat skimmer net?
A flat net skims floating debris off the surface. A deep rake has a bag that hangs below the frame, so it scoops leaves off the pool floor and carries a much larger load.
Why an aluminum frame?
Aluminum keeps the head light on the end of an extended pole and does not corrode in chlorinated water the way a steel frame would.
Does it come with a pole?
No. The rake is the head only and attaches to a standard telescopic pool pole.
When is a deep rake the right tool?
Any time leaves are coming down or a storm has dropped debris in the pool. Getting the bulk out by hand before it breaks down saves the filter and the chemistry a lot of work.
