The Century USN1152 is an energy efficient pool pump motor, max rated at 1.5 HP with a 1.25 service factor, wired for either 115 volts or 208-230 volts.

Max rated, and why it matters

Motor labels are read wrong more often than any other part on the pad. Max rated means the horsepower figure already includes the service factor, so a max rated 1.5 HP motor at 1.25 SF is not interchangeable with a full rated 1.5 HP motor. Replacing one with the other changes the flow the pump produces and, on the wrong side, loads the plumbing harder than it was sized for. Read the old motor label and match the rating as well as the horsepower.

What does max rated mean?
It means the horsepower on the label already has the service factor built into it. A max rated 1.5 HP motor with a 1.25 service factor is not the same as a 1.5 HP full rated motor, so match like for like when replacing.
