Product details

This is the Gecko Alliance 91694150 impeller for 1.5 HP XP2 series pumps. It is the factory replacement, cut for the 1.5 horsepower version of the pump.

Why impellers matter

The impeller is the only part of a pump that actually moves water. Everything else, the motor, the housing, the basket, exists to support it. When the vanes wear thin, break, or the passages pack with hair and grit, flow drops off while the motor keeps drawing the same power. That shows up as weak returns, a skimmer that stops pulling, and a heater or cleaner that will not run properly.

Match the horsepower

Impellers are not interchangeable across horsepower ratings inside the same pump family. This one is the 1.5 HP part. Fitting a different rating changes the flow the pump was designed around, so confirm the horsepower on the motor label before ordering.

While the pump is open

The shaft seal comes apart when the impeller is removed, so it is worth having a new seal on hand and doing both at the same time rather than opening the pump twice.

Will this fit my 2 HP XP2?
No. Impellers are cut per horsepower. This one is the 1.5 HP impeller, so a 2 HP pump takes a different part.
How do I know the impeller is the problem?
If the motor runs at full speed but the pump moves little water and the basket and lines are clear, pull the faceplate and look at the impeller for packed debris, broken vanes or wear.
Should I replace the shaft seal at the same time?
It is the normal practice. The seal has to come apart to get the impeller off, so most people fit a new seal while the pump is open.
