Product details

The Raypak 009216 is the 200,000 BTU natural gas heater in the Raypak Digital line, model P-R206A-EN-C. It is built for in-ground pools and spas and is the version configured for installations between sea level and 2,000 ft.

Digital ignition and control

There is no standing pilot. The burner lights electronically whenever the heater calls for heat, and the digital control holds the water at the temperature you set, whether that is a pool at swimming temperature or a spa turned up for the evening.

Built for the pad

The heat exchanger is copper fin tube, the standard Raypak exchanger for pools with properly balanced water. The cabinet is galvanized metal treated to resist corrosion, and the low profile shape keeps the heater from towering over the rest of the equipment. Raypak builds it to sit outdoors through rain and sun without complaint.

Confirm three things on the heater you are replacing: natural gas rather than propane, an elevation under 2,000 ft, and a 200K BTU size that suits your pool. This unit ships by freight.

Is this the natural gas or propane model?
Natural gas. P-R206A-EN-C is the natural gas version of the 200K Digital heater. Check the fuel type on the rating plate of the heater you are replacing before ordering, since the propane unit is a different part number.
What elevation is it built for?
This version is set up for 0 to 2,000 ft above sea level. If your pool sits higher than that, you need the high elevation version rather than this one.
Does it have a standing pilot?
No. The Digital series uses electronic ignition, which lights the burner each time the heater calls for heat and shuts it off when the set temperature is reached.
Will it heat a spa as well as a pool?
Yes. Raypak rates this unit for in-ground pools and spas, and the digital control lets you set the temperature you want for either.
