Kreepy Krauly Hose Mender Nuts, Plastic, White (2 Pack), ED15

Kreepy Krauly ED15 is the white plastic hose mender nut, supplied two to a pack. It is the fastener that clamps a mender into a length of cleaner hose.

What it is for

Cleaner hose does not usually fail along its whole length. It splits at one point, and the standard repair is to cut out the bad section and join the two good ends with a mender. Each end of that mender is held by one of these nuts, which is why the pack contains two: enough for one repair.

Fitment

The part is listed across the Pentair Legend three and four wheel models, the Legend Platinum, the Legend LL505G and the Jet Vac. The nuts are molded plastic rather than metal, so they will not corrode in chlorinated water or leave a rust mark on the deck.

When to change them

Nuts crack with age and sun, and they get over tightened during service or lost entirely when a hose is taken apart. A joint that will not pull up tight leaks, and a leaking hose joint bleeds off the flow the cleaner depends on, so it is worth keeping a pack in the spares box.
