The GW9509 is the idler gear kit for the Great White pool cleaner, supplied as a set of three molded plastic gears.

What the idler gears do

The cleaner drives its bristle mechanism through a gear train, and the idler gears sit in the middle of it passing the drive along. When their teeth wear down or strip, the drive slips. The cleaner keeps moving around the pool, which is why the problem is easy to miss, but the scrubbing and pickup fall off and the pool stops coming clean.

Before you order

Replace all three gears together. A fresh gear running against two worn ones wears at the same rate as the parts it is meshing with.
