The Raypak 014870F is the complete copper heat exchanger assembly, with polymer heads, for the Raypak Model 156A pool heater. It is the genuine Raypak part.
How it is built
Raypak uses integral copper fin tube: the fins are extruded from the tube itself, so the whole thing is one piece of copper rather than separate fins fitted onto a tube of another material. Copper moves heat quickly and has been the standard material for pool and spa heat exchangers on that basis.
What you get
The assembly is supplied complete with its polymer heads, so the exchanger goes back into the heater as a unit.
Before you order
Confirm the heater model plate reads 156A. A heat exchanger is a large part of the value of the heater, so it is worth finding out what damaged the original, whether that was low flow, poor water chemistry or freezing, before the new one goes in.
