Raypak Genuine OEM Refractory, Front & Rear, 406A, 010092F

Raypak 010092F is the genuine front and rear refractory for the 406A atmospheric gas pool heater. It is the same ceramic insulation the heater left the factory with.

What refractory does

Refractory lines the combustion chamber. It reflects burner heat up into the heat exchanger instead of letting it soak into the cabinet, and it keeps the surrounding metal at a temperature it can live with. A heater with broken refractory runs less efficiently and puts heat where the design never intended it to go.

When to replace it

Refractory is a wear item. Cracks, flaking edges, missing chunks and pieces that no longer sit flat are all reasons to change it. It is worth inspecting whenever the heater is open for burner or heat exchanger work, since the panels are easiest to reach at that point.

Before you order

This is the front and rear set for the 406A. The left and right common refractory is a separate Raypak part number, so check all four positions while the heater is apart.
