This is the replacement salt cell for the Hayward Salt and Swim 3C chlorine generator, Hayward part W3SAS-CELL. It is rated for inground swimming pools up to 30,000 gallons.

Why the cell is the part that gets replaced

A salt system makes chlorine by passing pool water over coated plates inside the cell. Those plates wear, and output falls away even though the control box still powers up and reports normally. Fitting a new cell restores the chlorine production the system was built to deliver, without touching the rest of the equipment.

What it supersedes

This cell takes the place of the older GLX-DIY-12 and GLX-DIY-6 cells, so an existing installation running either of those is covered by this part.

You may see it listed as SAS-CELL as well as W3SAS-CELL. Both numbers refer to the same Hayward cell.
