The Hayward SP0410X502S is a slide valve assembly with 2 inch SKT connections. It is the genuine Hayward part, supplied as a complete assembly.

What a slide valve does

A slide valve, sometimes called a push pull valve, moves a plunger up and down inside the body to switch the filter between filtering and backwashing. There are only the two positions, and the action is a straight pull rather than the rotating handle of a multiport. That simplicity is why slide valves last, and why the assembly is worth replacing outright when the internals finally wear.
