Product details

The J&J Electronics TR-300-PP is a low voltage transformer for pool, spa and fountain lighting, rated to carry an electrical load of up to 300W. It is UL listed for swimming pool lighting applications and finished in beige.

Why a lighting specific transformer

Modern LED pool lighting is more sensitive to the quality of the power it is given than the old incandescent fixtures were. These transformers include electrical line noise filtration for that reason, along with a proprietary vibration sound dampening system that keeps the unit from buzzing where it is mounted near living space.

Output taps

Three output taps are provided, 12, 13 and 14 VAC. Long cable runs drop voltage, so being able to step up a tap is how you land the correct voltage at the fixture rather than at the transformer.

Sizing

The TR-300 is the 300W unit. If your total fixture load is smaller, the TR-150 model covers loads up to 150W. Add up the wattage of every fixture on the circuit before you choose.
