Product details

The Pentair 520653 is the transformer assembly for EasyTouch pool and spa automatic control systems. It takes 115 or 230 V in and supplies 12, 18 and 24 V out. It is the genuine Pentair part, supplied as a complete assembly.

What it powers

Everything on the low voltage side of an EasyTouch depends on this transformer: the control board logic, the valve actuators, and the accessories wired to the low voltage terminals. Line power reaching the panel is not the same thing as the system being powered, and that distinction is exactly what makes a failed transformer look like a dead board.

Diagnosing it

If the breaker is on and the panel is dark, or the actuators will not drive, meter the transformer output before ordering anything else. A transformer showing line voltage in and nothing on the 12, 18 or 24 V taps has failed.

Fitting

The dual input rating means the same assembly serves a 115 or a 230 V installation. Wire it to match the service the panel was installed on.
