Questions about this size

What size safety cover fits a 16 x 32 ft pool?

An 18 x 34 ft cover. The 2 ft difference is the overlap that lands on the deck, about a foot on each side, and the anchors are set through it.

Mesh or solid for a 16 x 32 ft pool?

Both are made in this size. The mesh covers are self draining: rain and snowmelt go through the fabric into the pool and there is no pump. The solid covers, including the PoolTux Emperor and the light weight solid, hold the water on top and need a cover pump all winter. Each cover names its material.

What warranties do these carry?

They vary by line. At this size the manufacturers state terms from 12 years up to a 20 year limited warranty with the first 5 years full, with 15 year and 20 year limited terms in between. Each cover states its own.

Are these covers certified to ASTM F1346?

There is no certificate to hold. Compliance is declared by the manufacturer, and the standard puts it on the label: section 8.12 requires the label to state the cover's classification. That is the part to read, because it is what separates a safety cover from a winter cover.

Can I get a 16 x 32 ft cover with a step?

Yes. Center, center end and left step versions are made at this size, alongside full rectangles. The stock panel is 8 ft wide and 4 ft back at the water line, so a step deeper or wider than that needs a custom cover.
