The Pentair LL10PM is the gray back up valve for the Legend Platinum pressure side pool cleaner. It is the genuine Pentair part and it is the current style, replacing the older square style valve.
What the back up valve does
A pressure cleaner would otherwise wedge itself into a corner and stay there. The back up valve interrupts the flow on a cycle, sends the cleaner backward for a few seconds, then hands control back so the cleaner sets off on a new line. That short reverse is the whole reason the cleaner covers a pool instead of camping in one spot.
Symptoms and fitment
A valve that has given up shows itself in one of two ways: the cleaner never backs up and sits stalled, or it backs up constantly and never gets a run in. Either way the valve is the part to change. If the valve on your cleaner is the old square shape, this round style is what supersedes it.
