The Kreepy Krauly R211084K is a leaf trap canister with a handle, designed for use with Kreepy Krauly pool cleaners. It is the factory accessory for that cleaner line.
What it does
The canister goes into the hose run between the cleaner and the suction port. Leaves, twigs and acorns collect in it instead of travelling all the way to the pump strainer. When it fills, it is lifted out at the pool edge by the handle and emptied.
Why it is worth having
On a pool under trees, the pump basket fills faster than anyone wants to check it. Once it packs, flow drops, the cleaner slows and the pump can lose prime. A leaf trap intercepts most of that load somewhere far more convenient to empty, and keeps the suction steady for the cleaner in the process.
