Pentair Kreepy Krauly Legend, Legend II and Platinum Sweep Hose Complete, Gray, LLB5G

The Pentair LLB5G is the gray complete sweep hose for Kreepy Krauly pressure side pool cleaners: the Legend LL505G and LL505GG, the Legend II LX5000G and LX5000GG, and the Platinum LL505PM and LL505PMG.

What it does

The sweep hose trails behind the cleaner and moves in a gentle sweeping motion that stops debris from settling in corners and other spots the cleaner cannot reach, helping keep the floor and walls clean. Its speed is set with the adjustment screw on the mast barb below the ballast float: clockwise slows it and counterclockwise speeds it up. Pentair notes that a hose moving too fast can knock the cleaner off its straight line path, and one moving too slowly will not clean properly.

Choosing the right hose

LLB5G is the gray version, and Pentair lists the white complete sweep hose for the same cleaners as EB5L, so match the color to your cleaner. The Legend, Legend II and Platinum parts lists also give smaller sweep hose parts their own numbers, including the wear rings, the gray jet with collar LLB25PM and the gray hose sleeves LLH07PM.

When to replace it

Pentair treats the sweep hose as a wear item. The rings along it take the scuffing and can be rotated to prevent flat spots, then replaced as they wear. If the hose breaks the surface and sprays water, slow its motion first and add the optional EH09C sweep hose weight. If it gets sucked into the cleaner, turn the adjustment screw clockwise until it sweeps gently. Replace the complete hose when the hose itself is worn or damaged.
