Product details

These are the turbine bearings for the Kreepy Krauly Legend family of pressure side pool cleaners, Pentair part EC80. They come two to a pack, which is what one turbine takes.

What they carry

A Legend cleaner is driven by water. Pressure from the booster spins a turbine, and the turbine turns the wheels through the drive train. The bearings are what let that turbine spin freely under load, and they are running for every hour the cleaner is in the pool. Worn bearings make the turbine noisy, add drag, and eventually the cleaner slows down, stops climbing, or stalls in one corner.

Fitment and fitting

They are listed for the Legend 4 wheel and 3 wheel cleaners, the Legend LL505, the Legend Platinum, the Legend Truck and the Legend II. Change both at once. A single new bearing paired with a worn one lets the shaft run off true, and the new one goes the same way.

Should I replace both bearings?
Yes. Running one new bearing against one worn one puts the turbine shaft out of line, and the new bearing wears quickly.
How do I know the bearings are worn?
A turbine that has gone noisy, rough to spin by hand, or has visible side to side play in the shaft is running on worn bearings. The cleaner usually slows down or stops climbing walls first.
