Product details

The E10 is the complete back up valve, in white, for the Kreepy Krauly and Letro Legend pressure cleaners. It is the genuine part, supplied as a whole assembly rather than as an internal repair kit.

What the back up valve does

A pressure cleaner drives forward continuously, which means it will eventually work itself into a corner, against a step or under a ladder and stay there. The back up valve solves that. At intervals it diverts water from the cleaner to the back up jet, the cleaner reverses for a few seconds, and it then sets off on a new line. Without a working valve the cleaner still runs but the coverage collapses to whatever patch of floor it happened to reach.

When to replace it

The symptom is a cleaner that no longer backs up, or a valve that leaks around the body. The valve is a plastic part living in sunlight and chlorinated water, so it hardens and cracks with age. It is referenced with the Legend three wheel and four wheel cleaners, the Legend Platinum and the LL505G, so check the valve on your own cleaner against the part before you order.

What does a back up valve do?
It interrupts the water going to the cleaner at intervals and sends it to the back up jet, which drives the cleaner backwards for a moment. That is how a pressure cleaner frees itself from corners, steps and drains instead of sitting in one place.
