What the deflector does
The deflector plate and its rollers control how the cleaner meets the pool surface. When the plate cracks or the rollers seize, the cleaner starts to drag rather than ride, which shows up as scuff marks, poor tracking and a cleaner that hangs up in the same corner every cycle.
