This is the Jacuzzi dirt catcher, part number 42-2995-03-R, a new OEM component designed to fit the Jacuzzi CFR 75 cartridge filter.

What it does

Inside a cartridge filter tank, not everything the water carries ends up on the pleats. Heavier material drops out and collects, and the dirt catcher is the internal that holds it so it can be cleaned out rather than churned back into the flow every time the pump starts.
