Product details

The Jacuzzi 10-1462-07 is the eye seal ring used across a wide span of Jacuzzi pool pumps, from the Cygnet and J series through the Magnum family and the Ring-Lok models.

What it does

The eye seal ring is the fixed wear surface that the eye of the impeller spins inside. That clearance is the seal between the pressure side of the impeller and the suction side. As the ring wears and the gap opens, some of the water the impeller has already moved slips straight back around instead of leaving through the discharge, and the pump quietly loses flow while sounding perfectly normal.

Read the fitment carefully

Coverage is not the same across every family. Cygnet, J, JCM, K, KM and the L models are listed at all horsepowers. Magnum, Magnum Plus and Magnum Force are covered from 0.5 to 3.0 HP. The Ring-Lok models and the RC are only covered from 0.5 to 1.0 HP. Find your model and its horsepower on the list before you order.

Reaching this ring means the pump is apart. Look at the impeller, the shaft seal and the housing gasket at the same time. Those are the parts that fail on the same clock, and a second teardown a month later is time nobody wants to spend twice.

What does an eye seal ring do?
It is the wear ring that the eye of the impeller turns inside. The clearance between the two is what stops water already pushed by the impeller from slipping back into the suction side.
How do I know mine is worn?
A pump that has lost flow with a clean strainer, a clean filter and a sound impeller usually has clearance opening up at the eye seal ring or the impeller hub.
Should I replace anything else at the same time?
The pump has to come apart to reach this ring, so it is the moment to look at the impeller, the shaft seal and the housing gasket rather than opening it again later.
