Quick overview
- Seal plate o-ring The seal that sits at the seal plate, part number U9-373.
- Genuine Sta-Rite The factory part rather than a ring sized off the old one with calipers.
- Replace when you open the pump An o-ring that has taken a set will not seal again once it has been disturbed.
- Common cause of a leak Water tracking out at the seal plate joint usually means this ring, not the shaft seal.
- Cheap next to the damage A leak here runs down onto the motor, which is a much more expensive failure.
- Lubricate on assembly Use a pool rated silicone o-ring lubricant, never a petroleum grease.

Product details
The Sta-Rite U9-373 is the o-ring for the seal plate on Sta-Rite pool pumps. It is a small static seal doing an important job: keeping pumped water inside the pump instead of letting it track out at the seal plate joint and run down onto the motor.
Replace it when the pump comes apart
O-rings take a set in service. Once one has been compressed for a few seasons and is then disturbed, it rarely seals as well going back together, which is why this is a standard replacement item on any pump strip down. Lubricate the new ring with a pool rated silicone o-ring lubricant, not a petroleum grease.
Check the number for your pump
Seal plate o-rings differ between Sta-Rite pump families and the wrong size is a leak you will chase twice. Match U9-373 against the parts breakdown for your exact pump model before you order.
